Social Gaming for Social Change

However, a large group of people had an idea about developing games that taught children and adults about social and political problems. This was how the movement for “social change games” began.
The premise of social change games is really simple- these are interactive games, whose point is to teach the general populace about an important social or political issue. There are a number of games that are about women’s rights, or environmental problem, or political issues, gender issues, etc. These games are rather impressively made, and are slowly gaining popularity. The issues is that these games are not as popular as they should be- and that’s where the problem lies.
There are hugely popular game developers such as Games for Change, but even they are not as popular as some other game developing giants are. Many small and independent developers are also involved in the industry which clearly does not get the kind of revenue it needs in order to expand.
